Residents of Puncak Alam, Selangor, are reportedly facing another unsettling disturbance, this time involving a foul and unexplained stench that has sparked widespread discussion online.
The incident comes amid earlier viral reports of mysterious early-morning door-knocking episodes in the area, leaving some residents anxious and searching for answers.
The latest claims gained traction after a Threads user, identified as @Geyy.buu, shared an experience involving a strong and unpleasant odour encountered while travelling from Puncak Alam to Setia Alam.
According to the post, the smell appeared to engulf the vehicle despite there being no obvious source such as rubbish, sewage or animal remains nearby.
The user further speculated that the incident could be linked to “ilmu hitam” or black magic, claiming that someone may have been experimenting with such practices.
As the post circulated online, several commenters claimed to have experienced similar unexplained smells in other areas, while others admitted feeling increasingly disturbed by such reports.
While some social media users associated the incident with supernatural beliefs or occult practices, others urged the public to remain calm and avoid jumping to conclusions.
At present, there is no verified evidence linking the foul smell or earlier disturbances to paranormal or supernatural causes.

Still, the reports have revived discussions surrounding Malaysia’s long-standing fascination with unexplained events and urban legends.
From mysterious happenings to viral folklore, Malaysians are no strangers to stories that blur the line between reality and imagination.
One such case involved a Kelantan family who reportedly lived in fear after clothes were mysteriously torn and household items allegedly caught fire without explanation, a case reported by mStar in 2011.
Meanwhile, unexplained door-knocking incidents have periodically surfaced across the country, particularly during the early hours of the morning. The most recent reports once again brought attention to Puncak Alam.
Then there is the well-known “karipap-selling aunty” tale, an urban legend often shared among hostel and university students. The mysterious figure is commonly said to appear or disturb those staying awake late into the night.
While such stories continue to capture public imagination, no confirmed explanation has been established regarding the recent incidents in Puncak Alam.
Whether rooted in environmental causes, coincidence, community anxiety or folklore, the reports have undoubtedly left many residents uneasy.
For now, authorities and residents alike are encouraged to approach such claims rationally while respecting differing beliefs, as the mystery surrounding Puncak Alam continues to stir conversation both online and offline.
