Indeed , a great new for all those business women!

The allocation of RM50 million under the Prosperity Empowerment and A New Normal for Indian Women (PENN) programme is poised to significantly empower and secure the future of Indian women entrepreneurs, according to Malaysian Associated Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (MAICCI) Women’s Wing head, S. Hemala.

Hemala remarked, "Many Indian women require support, collaboration, guidance, and financial assistance to nurture their businesses and advance professionally," as reported by Bernama.

Last Saturday, Deputy Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Datuk Ramanan Ramakrishnan announced that Amanah Ikhtiar Malaysia (AIM) has earmarked a special fund of RM50 million to empower Indian women entrepreneurs through the PENN programme. This allocation, sourced from AIM's internal funds, is anticipated to benefit over 7,100 new Sahabat Usahawan India, expanding the total beneficiaries of the Skim Pinjaman Ikhtiar AIM to 10,200, inclusive of 3,100 existing entrepreneurs.

Hemala further expressed MAICCI's readiness to collaborate with the Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Ministry and AIM to ensure the success of the PENN programme, particularly through strategic campaigns to raise awareness about this initiative. "I am confident that this programme will foster the emergence of more women entrepreneurs, thereby making a significant impact on the economic growth of our nation," she affirmed.

Members of Sahabat Usahawan AIM are currently eligible to submit applications for the PENN programme at 124 AIM branch offices nationwide, with applications having been open since yesterday.
