Mathura Kannan, one of the Co-Founders of Ascendance in Malaysia, has been recognized as a Regional Finalist for the 2023 Commonwealth Youth Awards in recognition of her outstanding contribution for SDG 4 - Quality Education.

This recognition is due to her remarkable efforts in contributing to Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG 4), which focuses on Quality Education. She is among a select group of young leaders chosen as regional finalists from a pool of 50 shortlisted individuals. These finalists are considered changemakers actively working towards achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, and Mathura Kannan's work in the field of education has earned her this honour.





Having said that, Mathura is all set to represent Malaysia and Asia at the Commonwealth Youth Awards, which will take place at St James' Palace in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Edward, Duke of Edinburgh. The young lass has also expressed gratitude to the Ascendance team and her co-founders, Harsha Ravindran, Heerraa Ravindran, and Sanadt Kumar, for their hard work in reaching out to young people through their organization.
