Malaysian squash sensation Sivasangari Subramaniam has been honoured as the Athlete of the Month by The World Games, following her remarkable triumph at the London Classic. The 25-year-old athlete, ranked 16th globally, stunned the squash world with her sensational performance, defeating top-ranked players en route to clinching the coveted title at Alexandra Palace.

Subramaniam's journey to victory included defeating World No.1 Nour El Sherbini in the quarter-final, World No.4 Nele Gilis in the semi-final, and World No.2 Hania El Hammamy in a thrilling final match. Her triumph marked a remarkable comeback following a tumultuous period in 2022, when she endured life-threatening injuries from a traffic accident in Kuala Lumpur, resulting in mobility issues in her neck and side-lining her from the Commonwealth Games.

Her triumph at the London Classic not only solidified her comeback but also marked a historic milestone as the first Malaysian athlete to win a Gold-level event since the legendary Nicol David in 2015.

Subramaniam's recent accomplishments add to her impressive accolades, including two gold medals at the Hangzhou Asian Games and victory at the PSA World Tour Bronze-level Hong Kong Football Club Open. Indeed, a well-deserved!
