Five bright young minds from SJK (T) Rawang, Selangor, have brought immense pride to Malaysia by winning gold and silver medals and cash prizes at the prestigious Hong Kong International Invention & Innovation Competition 2025, held from March 13 to 16.

Representing the only Tamil school from Malaysia to compete at the international level, Sanjaanaa Jegadeesvaran and Laxshan Shanmuganathan amazed judges and audiences alike with their innovative machine that combines fertiliser and pesticide functions : earning them a well-deserved gold medal and US$800 in prize money.




Adding to the school’s remarkable achievement, another team comprising Pavisha Prata Kumar, Divina Perabakaran, and Tivesha Gunalan also made their mark by clinching a silver medal for their eco-friendly seed bomb innovation. Their project further earned them the prestigious Macau Special Award along with HK$600 in cash prize.





Competing against over 100 teams from across the globe, these young innovators have not only showcased their creativity and talent but have also proven that age is no barrier when it comes to making a meaningful impact. Their achievements serve as a shining example of what can be accomplished through perseverance, curiosity, and strong support from educators.

This historic win is a moment of pride not just for SJK (T) Rawang, but for the entire Malaysian Tamil school community!
