PARENTS
Parents play an important role in preventing and responding to bullying. Most parents typically believe that it's not happening to their children. Not understanding the severity of bullying is the first mistake parents make. Parents need to pay more attention to what their children do and who their children mingle with. Even the most cheerful child in the room might be a bully victim or even the bully!TEACHERS
Schools can be the primary place where bullying can happen. Helping to establish a supportive and safe school climate where all students are accepted and knowing how to respond when bullying happens is key to making sure all students are able to learn and grow. Teaching students to be kind yet stren when being bullied is vital. Teachers can hold several activities to see the behaviour of the kids around each other to identify bully victims and the bullies.SOCIETY
Firstly, we should stop sharing bullying videos on social media. Giving attention to such videos and making them viral is just escalating the issue further. As responsible societal members, we need to put a stop to bullying as soon as we spot it anywhere. Get in touch with the authorities if the bullying turns violent. In the end, we all live together as a society and children are quick to follow what they see and observe around them. Creating an ecosystem where the children are exposed to positive and kind gestures plays a big role.Photo Credit: NST
