The Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR) 2026 is now officially open for applications starting 13 October 2025. Many Malaysians, including single individuals and senior citizens, may not realise that they are eligible to receive this assistance.

Under Budget 2026, the government has increased the allocation for STR and SARA to RM15 billion, up from RM13 billion the previous year.

Main Target Groups for STR 2026

- Households with an income of RM5,000 and below
- Senior citizens without a spouse
- Low-income single individuals
- Vulnerable groups registered under the eKasih or JKM system

Eligibility Requirements

Households:

- Married, single parents, widows, or widowers with dependents
- Household income not exceeding RM5,000

Senior Citizens (without spouses):

- Aged 60 years and above
- Income not exceeding RM5,000
- No spouse or eligible dependents

Single Individuals:

- Aged between 21 and 59 years (or 19 years and above if disabled)
- Not a full-time higher education student
- Income not exceeding RM2,500

Note: Full-time higher education students can only be registered as dependents, not as individual applicants.








Total STR 2026 Assistance


For households with income ≤ RM2,500:


For households with income RM2,501 – RM5,000:

Other categories:

- Senior citizens without a partner (income ≤ RM5,000): RM600
- Single individuals (income ≤ RM2,500): RM600


STR 2026 payments will be distributed in several phases, similar to previous years.

Payment methods:


1. Direct credit to the recipient’s bank account
2. Cash payment at Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) counters for recipients without bank accounts or failed credit transactions


How to Apply for STR 2026

Applications are open from 13 October 2025 and can be made online or manually.

Online application via MySTR portal:

1. Visit (https://bantuntunai.hasil.gov.my)
2. Click “New Application”
3. Choose to log in using MyDigital ID or register manually
4. Enter your MyKad number
5. Fill in personal information, dependents, income, and bank account details
6. Upload supporting documents such as marriage or death certificates and proof of income
7. Review and submit your application
8. Save your reference number for future status checks

Note: A new MySTR account must be registered even if you have applied for STR previously. Applications can be updated anytime throughout the year if there are changes in your status.

Manual application (Form BK-01):

- Download the official form from the STR website
- Complete the form and submit it at the nearest HASiL, UTC, or Revenue Service Centre office
