Taanusiya Chetty, a 24-year-old aspiring teacher from Kuala Lumpur, has been crowned Miss World Malaysia 2024, captivating the judges and audience with her beauty, poise, and eloquence at the pageant finale on 3 December. Held at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) in Kota Kinabalu, the event marked a significant milestone for Taanusiya, who will represent Malaysia at the Miss World 2025 pageant, competing against contestants from around the globe.

In addition to the prestigious title, Taanusiya walked away with RM50,000 in cash and prizes. Joining her on the podium were Kelly Eleanor Tseu, a Chinese Filipino from Kota Kinabalu, who was named first runner-up, and Hantze Liow, a Muay Thai and yoga enthusiast from Kuala Lumpur, who secured second runner-up.

Following her win, Taanusiya took to social media to express her gratitude, writing, "This moment is bigger than me; it's about the lives touched, the stories shared, and the hope for a brighter tomorrow."

A student pursuing a Bachelor of Education in Teaching English as a Second Language, Taanusiya is also an influencer, model, and content creator. Beyond her academic and professional pursuits, she is a changemaker, having founded @be.the.change_my, a platform dedicated to empowering underserved communities and championing children with disabilities.

Reflecting on her journey, Taanusiya shared, "From facing profound loss to finding strength in giving back, this journey has been nothing short of life-changing. Every step has shaped who I am today."

As Miss World Malaysia 2024, Taanusiya hopes to amplify her mission of inspiring others to embrace the transformative power of kindness and education. She aims to use her platform to advocate for meaningful change and create a brighter, more inclusive future for all.
