Hidden on top of a quiet hill in Puchong stands a crumbling abandoned mansion that continues to send chills down the spines of those who dare to go near it. Known to many as the Taman Tenaga Bungalow, the eerie property has become one of Malaysia’s most talked-about haunted locations over the years.
At first glance, it may appear to be just another forgotten bungalow slowly being reclaimed by nature. But according to countless stories passed down by locals and paranormal enthusiasts, the house carries a dark and unsettling past.
Legend says the bungalow once belonged to a wealthy Chinese businessman who lived there with his family. While some claim the family enjoyed a luxurious life, others believe financial problems soon turned the mansion into a place of despair.
According to one version of the story, the businessman had fallen deeply into debt with loan sharks, eventually driving the family to a tragic end. Some say the family took their own lives by hanging themselves, while others claim their throats were slit. Another chilling version suggests they were murdered inside the house itself.

Though the details differ, every version of the story ends the same way, the family never made it out alive.
Over time, the abandoned mansion became surrounded by terrifying rumours. Locals claim the bungalow was later used by bomohs for dark rituals and supernatural practices. Many believe the strange energy surrounding the house began from that point onward.
Visitors and nearby residents have reported seeing lights flickering inside the bungalow despite the house having no electricity supply for years. Others claim they have heard the screams of women and children echoing through the area late at night.
Shadowy figures have allegedly been seen moving around the compound, while stories of pontianak sightings continue to circulate among thrill-seekers and paranormal hunters.
One of the most talked-about incidents involved a photograph taken by a group of friends visiting the bungalow. The image supposedly showed the smiling face of a woman appearing from the top of a tree near the house, a photo that quickly spread online and fuelled the bungalow’s haunted reputation even further.
To this day, nobody truly knows what happened inside the mansion. Whether it is merely an urban legend, an unsolved tragedy, or something more sinister, the Taman Tenaga Bungalow remains one of Malaysia’s most mysterious and spine-chilling locations.
