P. Tanabalan, a dedicated meter reader at Tenaga Nasional Bhd, recently accomplished a remarkable feat by traversing 14,769 kilometers across multiple countries to reach Madinah, Saudi Arabia. Undertaking this profound pilgrimage as part of the Jelajah Silaturahim motorcycle expedition, Tanabalan, along with 18 companions, embarked on a transformative journey that lasted 40 days.

Expressing gratitude to his fellow Muslim brothers and friends whose financial support facilitated his endeavour, Tanabalan emphasized that his primary objective was to safely reach Madinah, a goal he successfully achieved. With a decade of motorcycle riding experience under his belt, Tanabalan has previously explored diverse destinations, including Sabah, Sarawak, Brunei, and various Southeast Asian countries.

While this journey presented its own set of challenges, Tanabalan found it to be immensely rewarding, despite opting to conclude the expedition in Madinah rather than proceeding to Mecca. Committed to respecting religious customs and traditions, Tanabalan abstains from visiting locations where non-Muslims are prohibited, maintaining a steadfast dedication to his faith.

Beyond his spiritual pursuits, the gem embraces the opportunity to explore new cultures and broaden his horizons, regularly visiting places of worship across different religions. This multicultural approach reflects his belief in fostering understanding and appreciation within Malaysia's diverse society.

As Tanabalan commemorates the successful completion of this profound pilgrimage, his journey stands as a testament to resilience, determination, and a steadfast commitment to spiritual fulfillment.
