While India is celebrated for its deep-rooted culture and history, beautiful mountains, beaches and ancient temples, there are a few unique and bizarre places in the country that will never cease to amaze you.

One of such places is a famous Lord Hanuman shrine that's renowned for its spirit exorcisms. Located in Rajasthan, the Hindu shrine is called the Mehandipur Balaji Temple.

Devotees of Lord Hanuman believe that the temple and it's deity posses the power to cast away any sort of Black Magic or evil spirits. Lord Hanuman is known as Balaji in the temple, and devotees flood the shrine every day to get exorcised or ward off evil ghosts.

There are three deities in the shrine that are believed to be at least 1000 years old. According to the local stories, the location of the temple used to be covered with thick forest and ancestors of a man named Shri Mahant Ji began the worship of Lord Hanuman.

It is believed that the Lord appeared in the man's dreams and asked him to assume the duty of serving Him. Ever since the incident, Hanuman worship became a norm in the area.

The mandir (temple) is unlike any regular temple where you hear the sounds of bells and chants of pandits (Hindu scholars), instead all you will hear are the screams of possessed individuals.

Tourists are terrified to visit the temple, however some are too curious to miss the experience. Given a choice, would you visit the Balaji mandir?
