Just as Pradosham is sacred to Lord Shivan, Ekadashi to Lord Vishnu, and Chaturthi to Lord Vinayagar, the Shashti Tithi that appears each month holds deep spiritual significance for devotees of Lord Muruga. Observing a fast and offering prayers on this day is believed to remove obstacles, ease suffering, and bring divine grace, especially for those burdened by debts or longing for children.

This month, the sacred Aippasi Theipirai Shashti falls on November 10, a day that radiates the blessings of Lord Murugan. Devotees begin the day with an early bath, cleansing both body and home before offering prayers. The image or idol of Lord Muruga is gently cleaned and adorned with sandalwood paste, kumkum, and fresh red flowers. Offerings such as sweet pongal and payasam are placed before the Lord with pure devotion.

It is said that those facing financial struggles, those longing for a child, or those caught in seemingly endless problems should offer boiled milk mixed with honey to Lord Muruga on this day. If a vel (spear) is present at home, devotees may anoint it with honey and perform puja, reciting hymns like Kanda Sashti Kavasam and Thiruppugazh, songs that please Lord Muruga the most.








Among all the offerings one can make, Lord Murugan cherishes two above all, sincere devotion and heartfelt surrender. No costly ornaments or grand rituals can match the power of a pure heart that calls upon Him with love and faith. The songs sung in devotion, like Tiruppugazh and Kanda Sashti Kavasam, are said to bring Him immense joy.
