Vijay sets sail on a political journey with the launch of 'Tamizhaga Vetri Kazhagam' (TVK). Sources close to the actor reveal that Vijay is considering a possible debut in the 2026 Assembly polls, opting out of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

The nascent political entity is expected to undergo formal registration with the Election Commission within the next month, marking a significant move in Vijay's journey from the silver screen to the political arena. The South Indian star, previously renowned for expressing his critiques on government policies through his films like "Mersal" (2017) and "Sarkar" (2018), has long fuelled speculation about his potential political entry.

Acknowledging Vijay's political aspirations, Superstar Rajinikanth extended his wishes for success during the audio launch of his upcoming film, "Lal Salaam," dispelling rumours of any rivalry between them.

Rajinikanth stated, "Both Vijay and I have mentioned that we only compete with ourselves, not each other. He is also entering politics now and has done a lot of good for society. I only wish the best for him."
As Vijay embarks on this political journey, it remains to be seen how his influence will shape the political landscape in the upcoming elections
