"Education will save your family," Muthukkalai emphasized. "I wanted to recover what I had lost in my youth. Many people teased me while I was studying, but despite all that, I obtained my degree."
He recounted how poverty in his childhood prevented him from pursuing an education, leading him to move to Chennai and become a stunt actor in the film industry. "I first learned valor, accumulated wealth, and then returned to education. It took me 50 years. So, I urge young people to study at the right time."

Muthukkalai also spoke about the impact of alcohol, expressing a desire to study its effects in the future due to his personal experiences with its negative consequences. He warned against wasting educational opportunities, especially when parents make significant sacrifices to support their children’s education.
"Studying and earning a degree will be your way of showing gratitude to your parents," he advised. "Read well when you are young, and everything else will follow automatically."
This recent achievement marks Muthukkalai’s third degree. In 2017, he completed a Bachelor of Arts in History through Tamil Nadu Open University, followed by a Master of Arts in Tamil Literature in 2019, also with first-class honours. At 58 years old, Muthukkalai now holds three academic degrees ; indeed an inspiration to all of us!
