Lately, a clip of him singing “Roja Roja” on stage has been circulating widely, catching the attention of many. The song, originally sung by Unni Krishnan for the film Valentine’s Day, is not new, but what makes Sathyan’s performance stand out is the way he sings it. There’s a certain intensity in his eyes, a rawness in his voice, and even the breeze moving through his hair adds a cinematic touch that has left viewers captivated.

Born and raised in Chennai, Sathyan has been passionate about music since childhood and began performing on stage as early as 15. By 2004, he made his mark with “Kalakkapovadu Yaaru” in Vasool Raja M.B.B.S. and went on to sing over 30 hits under Yuvan Shankar Raja, including “Sil Sil Sil Malaiye,” “Dostu Pada Dostu,” and “Ada Basu Basu.” He’s also the voice behind “Kuttipuli Koottam” in Thuppaki. Beyond film songs, he has composed devotional music and taken his performances around the world — from London to Paris, Sri Lanka to Russia. To date, he has sung more than 150 songs.
