Born and raised in Chennai, Sathyan has been passionate about music since childhood and began performing on stage as early as 15. By 2004, he made his mark with “Kalakkapovadu Yaaru” in Vasool Raja M.B.B.S. and went on to sing over 30 hits under Yuvan Shankar Raja, including “Sil Sil Sil Malaiye,” “Dostu Pada Dostu,” and “Ada Basu Basu.” He’s also the voice behind “Kuttipuli Koottam” in Thuppaki. Beyond film songs, he has composed devotional music and taken his performances around the world — from London to Paris, Sri Lanka to Russia. To date, he has sung more than 150 songs.
Married to Nithya and a father of two daughters, Sathyan continues to pursue his passion for music. Recently, after the viral success of “Roja Roja,” he released a heartfelt video thanking fans for their love and promised to share a full version of the performance. With this renewed attention, many are now curious to see if Sathyan will make a bigger return to playback singing in upcoming films.
