Ponniyin Selvan is one of the most anticipated epic films of Indian cinema helmed by the renowned director Mani Ratnam. It's believed to be his dream project.

The film boasts a star-studded cast of Vikram, Amitabh Bachchan, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Aishwarya Rai, Trisha, Sarathkumar, Rahman, and Prathiban to name a few. Recently, actor Rahman revealed that 75% of the shoot creating ripples of excitement among fans.

Originally, it's believed that Mani Ratnam wanted to cast Simbu as one of the lead characters. According to Cine Ulagam, a senior journalist confirmed that the director reportedly dropped the idea when the other actors said 'No' to Simbu.
