WWF-Malaysia, in collaboration with Astro and Love Nature, organised the “Eyes on the Wild” national photography competition from July to September 2025, encouraging Malaysians to celebrate our country’s biodiversity while raising awareness for conservation. The competition culminates in a public exhibition at Venue Sponsor The LINC KL from 29 October to 4 November 2025, showcasing the shortlisted top 20 images of talented photographers from across the nation.

The Eyes on the Wild photography competition provides a creative platform for Malaysians to use the art of photography as a tool for storytelling, bringing attention to the beauty, diversity and uniqueness of our natural environment. In a statement regarding the Eyes on the Wild competition, Ms. Rozzana Basri, Director of Marketing and Communications at WWF-Malaysia, said:

“At WWF-Malaysia, we believe that conservation begins with awareness. It’s my hope that the Eyes on the Wild competition allows us as a nation to see nature through the lens of compassion and creativity. We hope the contest encourages Malaysians to not only admire nature but also to care deeply for its conservation, which is what our world needs right now.” The contest welcomed entries under two categories: Youth (18–24 years old) and Adult (aged 25 years and above), open to both amateur and professional photographers nationwide.

Submissions were evaluated on criteria including the photo’s overall creativity and composition, whether there is a clear story within the photographs, and more importantly, if it sticks with the theme and subject matter. WWF-Malaysia received strong participation, reflecting the enthusiasm and shared commitment of Malaysians towards conservation. From these entries, the top 20 photographs were shortlisted and are currently exhibited at The LINC KL, allowing the public to experience the stories behind each image.

The winners for both categories had been announced on 20 October. Prizes include cash awards, and exclusive WWF-Malaysia and Love Nature merchandise, as a celebration of their achievements and to encourage them to continue their creative journey in support of protecting nature. This initiative is made possible through WWF-Malaysia’s strong collaboration with media partners Astro and Love Nature, and exhibition venue sponsor The LINC KL.

The campaign aligns with the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between WWF Malaysia and Astro, aimed to highlight the urgent need to protect wildlife and ecosystems while inspiring communities to take collective action. Astro and Love Nature have played a key role in in amplifying the environmental initiatives, extending its reach to audiences nationwide through their platforms, while The LINC KL provides a platform to showcase the top photographs to build public support of nature conservation.

This collaboration demonstrates the importance of working together to achieve meaningful conservation impact. WWF-Malaysia extends heartfelt appreciation to all participants who submitted their entries, as well as to our collaborators, Astro, Love Nature and The LINC KL. Members of the public are warmly invited to visit the Eyes on the Wild exhibition at The LINC KL from 29 October to 4 November 2025 to explore the showcased works and be inspired to join the movement for conservation.
