A recent controversy erupted after an email allegedly sent by the HR of an Indian company, YesMadam, went viral on social media. The email suggested that employees who reported feeling stressed at work during a company-conducted emotional well-being survey were terminated immediately.

The viral email stated, “To ensure no one remains stressed at work, we have made the difficult decision to part ways with employees who indicated significant stress.” The message sparked outrage online, with many condemning the company’s decision to terminate employees for expressing workplace pressure.

However, the company has since issued an official clarification on its Instagram account (@yesmadam_official), denying the termination allegations. According to the statement, no employees were fired. Instead, the company claimed to have provided support to those experiencing stress by offering them a break to reset and recharge.

“They were encouraged to release their stress and offered a chance to relax. They weren’t sacked but were urged to rest and recharge,” the statement clarified.

YesMadam further explained that it has introduced new employee benefits, including six days of paid leave annually for de-stressing and complimentary YesMadam spa sessions at home to support the well-being of its workforce.

The company also apologised for any misunderstanding caused by the email and thanked the public for voicing their concerns. “When people speak up, it shows they care; and care is at the heart of our business,” the statement concluded.
