From his humble beginnings in the estate to his rise as the Sungai Siput MP, YB S. Kesavan always had only one motive in his mind. That is to serve the people.

Politics was never his career choice. In his younger days, he dreamed to be an entrepreneur, however, all his efforts constantly failed.

“I didn’t plan to enter politics at any point in my life. God paved the path for me into politics. The failures and experience moulded me and in 2003, I met a leader where my political journey began,” he explained.

Under Pakatan Harapan, YB S. Kesavan became Hutan Melintang ADUN for two times consecutively in 2008 and 2013.

“Contesting for the MP seat in Sungai Siput was a last-minute decision of the Party. The people of Sungai Siput trusted me and gave me a bigger win than I ever imagined,” he added.

When asked about his plans for the next 5 years, he said “My plan is to enhance the living standards of the people. Previously, as an opposition, it was a challenge to fulfill the needs of the people. But, now it’s much easier.”

His plans are mostly targeted towards lowering unemployment rates and making life better for the people, especially in Sungai Siput. He guaranteed that, in the next 5 years, all 25 vows made to the Indian community will be fulfilled.

“Malaysia, under PM Tun Mahathir’s leadership is undergoing drastic changes. The Government is now taking stern measures to create a corruption-free nation,” he stated.

YB S. Kesavan believes that at this pivotal moment it’s important to bring political awareness to the youths. According to him, many youths are still unaware of the difference between the ‘Dewan Rakyat’ and ‘Dewan Negara’.

“It took 60 years to come to this moment. The youths need to know their rights and responsibilities. So that, they can question even me, if I make any mistakes,” he exclaimed.
