The official birthday of the Yang diPertuan Agong, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, has been moved to June 8, this year.

The initial date was June 6, a Saturday.

This means Malaysians will get an extra public holiday to celebrate the King's birthday, as June 8 falls on a Monday.

In a statement today, Chief Secretary to the Government Mohd Zuki Ali, said that next year, and until the end of the King's reign, His Royal Highness's official birthday will fall on the first Monday of June.
