Police evacuated the court complex in Jalan Duta and sealed off the building following a bomb hoax that came in the middle of former prime minister Najib Razak's court trial today.

According to Sentul district Chief Assistant Commissioner S. Shanmugamoorthy, the TTDI police station received an anonymous call at around 11am today (July 25) indicating a possible bomb placement in the court. The police acted immediately by vacating the building and gathering the people at the main entrance.

“We couldn't recognise who he was. He didn’t introduce himself but relayed information, claiming a bomb was in court. That is all,”  he said at a press conference.

The bomb threat stalled Najib Razak's on-going corruption trial involving RM42 million of SRC International funds. According to Malay Mail, he was seen leaving the area at 12.35pm.

“The bomb squad and K-9 unit have scoured the area, checked strategic locations and along the perimeter including the interior where interesting cases are being heard or tried.

“We have not found anything wrong and at this point it is clear, and I am satisfied with the current situation,”  S. Shanmugamoorthy added.

After ensuring there were no explosives on the site, the public was allowed in again at 2pm. Najib's trial resumed after that.
