Sabarimala and Tirupati are two famous pilgrimage sites in India which accommodate millions of devotees yearly.

Located in Kerala, the Sabarimala Temple dedicated to Lord Ayyappan conducts the famous Ayyappan pooja during the end of the year, and monthly poojas which are attended by a huge crowd of devotees.

In the wake of Coronavirus fear, Travancore Devaswom Board president N Vasu has urged the public not to attend the poojas held at the temple. The board will not stop devotees heading to the temple but is requesting the public to cooperate and avoid visiting the temple at this time.

Meanwhile, the Tirumala Tirupati Temple, located in Andhra Pradesh, is all prepared to do thermal screening before allowing devotees inside the temple vicinity.

If any devotees show symptoms of Covid-19, they will be sent to the Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences (SVIMS) for treatment. However, the temple's representative has appealed to the devotees to avoid visiting the temple if they are suffering from cough, cold and fever.
