Ministry Promises To Bring Malaysians Stranded In India Back Home!

  • 18 Mar 2020

The Movement Control Order (MCO) which came into effect today bars foreigners from entering Malaysia and restricts Malaysians from traveling overseas. However, it doesn't prevent Malaysians from returning home from foreign countries.

In a recent video that went viral online, Malaysians stranded in India claim their flights got delayed from 13th March and they were not accepted into any hotels as they are Malaysians. But Indian officials blame Malaysia's MCO as the reason for their troubles.

However, Foreign Affairs Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein clarified that the 274 Malaysians stranded across India are still allowed to return home under the MCO, but were stranded because of the Indian Government's travel ban.

He further added that ministry officials have contacted the stranded Malaysians, and are looking for a way to bring them back home.
