Meet The Teen Who Impressed GV Prakash Kumar With Her Beautiful Rendition of His Song!

The lockdown imposed to contain the COVID-19 pandemic has brought out the hidden talents of many people. 

From cooking to gardening, drawing to dancing and singing, people are unleashing their inner talents for the whole world to see and appreciate. 

One of them is S Reeloshiny, 15, who is setting the social media on fire, with a video of her beautiful rendition of "Ellu Vaya Pookalaye" from Dhanush's Asuran. 

The video, which has since gone viral, is so good that even music director GV Prakash Kumar, who composed the melodious number, has shared the video on his official Twitter account, and praised Reeloshiny.

Vizhuthugal caught up with Reeloshiny and her mother Gowri for a chat via a video call, this morning. 

According to Reeloshiny, a student of SMK Machang Bubok in Penang, she has been singing since she was just seven, but started performing on stage when she was 11. 

She also performs bhajan songs at temples, and has even joined online singing contests. 

On the recent viral "Ellu Vaya Pookaleye" song, she said it was just shared for an inter-school singing competition during the lockdown period. 

"I did not expect it to go viral. I was shocked to learn that it was shared by GV Prakash Kumar himself," she said. 

Gowri is well aware of her daughter's potential, and said she loves to see her excel as a singer in the future. 

"I would like her to become a singer in the future. I went through a lot of hardship to bring out her talent. 

"I'm confident that with the talent she has, she will excel as a singer one day," she said. 

Reeloshiny's video is also being widely lauded by netizens, who are unanimously praising her talent and her flawless voice.
