It seems social media has the power to do good!

As the prominent Bukit Gasing Maha Sivan temple landed in hot water, Malaysia Hindu Sangam President, 'Shivenerich Selvar' Ganesan Thangavelu stepped in to give a solution by providing new wheelchairs to the disabled people.

On the other side, the temple management has also agreed to build a temporary route for wheelchair users to access a prayer area after its management had drawn flak for disallowing a wheelchair-bound devotee from doing so.

This came in after a video of a woman berating the Maha Sivan Alayam temple administration for barring handicapped people from the prayer area went viral on social media.

Having said that, Radhakrishnan urged all temples to abide by the provision under Section 34A of the Uniform Building By-Laws 1984 and the standard for universal design and accessibility to ensure that all facilities were disabled-friendly.
