Three ministers have tested positive for COVID-19 so far, after screening was done on all cabinet members.

Health Minister Dr Adham Baba told reporters in Putrajaya today that all the afflicted are currently being treated at hospitals.

It was recently reported that Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Economy) Mustapa Mohamed, and Women, Family, and Community Development minister Rina Mohd Harun, have both tested positive for COVID-19.

The third one is Home Minister Hamzah Zainuddin, he confirmed in a statement this afternoon.

Asked whether cabinet ministers who tested negative for the virus still have to undergo quarantine, Adham said it would be decided on the risk assessment carried out by the Health Ministry.

Malaysia has been recording new COVID-19 cases in the four digits daily.

Yesterday, 2,232 new cases and four deaths were recorded, bringing the total number of infections and fatalities to 138,224, and 555, respectively.

The global COVID-19 infection and death tally has surpassed 91.3 million, and 1.9 million, respectively.
