Health Minister Dr Adham Baba has been placed under home quarantine after coming into close contact with a COVID-19 patient.

In a Facebook post, Adham said he will be working from home until the conclusion of the Home Surveillance Order (HSO) until Dec 18, 2020.

"The order (HSO) was ordered because I have come into close contact with a private media practitioner who had come to my office last Saturday.

"The media personnel was found to be COVID-19 positive, and symptomatic," Adham wrote.

"Until the completion of the HSO, I will work from home, and conduct meetings and discussions virtually," he added.

The minister stressed that no one is exempt from following COVID-19 preventive measures.

A total of 959 new COVID-19 cases and 5 deaths were reported yesterday, bringing the total number of infections and fatalities in the country to 76,265 and 393, respectively.

The coronavirus has infected over 69.2 million and taken over 1.5 million lives, worldwide.
