Applications for Phase 2 of the Dharma MADANI Programme, which will consider the first 324 complete submissions, are now open to eligible Hindu temples nationwide.
The Malaysian Indian Transformation Unit (MITRA) said applications opened at 9am today (Aug 17) and will remain open until 5pm on Sept 18, 2026.
The programme is a government initiative aimed at empowering Hindu temples to serve not only as places of worship, but also as centres for learning, spirituality, culture and community activities.
According to MITRA, the Dharma MADANI Programme targets 1,000 Hindu temples registered with the Registrar of Societies Malaysia (ROS).
Under Phase 1, a total of 676 Hindu temples were approved to receive assistance.
Eligible Hindu temples that meet the requirements outlined in the Dharma MADANI Programme Application Guidelines are encouraged to submit their applications during the one-month application period.
The Phase 2 application period runs from Aug 17, 2026, to Sept 18, 2026.
Temples are advised to review the eligibility criteria and application guidelines before submitting their applications.
