The Ilaya Nila' Ilayaraja SPB Live In Concert 2019 will go on as planned, despite an eleventh hour change to the timing.

Speaking at a press conference on Monday (Aug 26), Raaghav Productions' representative J. Dinesh Kumar said about 95% of the 3,000 people who have bought the tickets to the show did not raise any issue about the time change.

"The tickets are non-refundable since we didn't cancel the show. Those who can't make it to the concert on time are selling it off to their family or friends online. In fact, we sold 40 to 50 more tickets after the announcement of the time change," he said.

It would also be difficult to secure a venue and artists on another date, he pointed out.

According to him, there are 22 other indoor events happening this coming Saturday, and he wondered if they were facing similar issues.

Those who may have questions or issues arising from the time change, may contact DK (Raaghav Productions) at 010-4071526.

The time change fiasco arose when PUSPAL ( the Central Agencies Committee for Applications for Filming and Performances by Foreign Artistes) introduced a new rule restricting any performances after 7.30pm (sunset timing) on Aug 31 as it clashes with Awal Muharram celebrations.

The organisers decided to abide by the new rule and changed the timing of the concert from 7pm - 11pm to 3pm - 7pm on Aug 31.

During the press conference, Dinesh Kumar questioned why PUSPAL didn't approve their application when they have followed the guidelines set by the agency from the start.

SPB Live In Concert is a closed indoor concert happening at the Plenary Hall in KLCC and according to PUSPAL's guidelines found on their website, the restrictions only apply to open concert performances.
