The closest most preschoolers would get to being a cop is while playing "polis sentry, one two jaga" with their friends.

However, Tadika Kemas Al-Ghazali in the Kapayan district of Kota Kinabalu in Sabah has ramped up the cool factor by many notches, by fashioning the whole premise to look like a real police station.

In fact, the kindergarten even has a mock lockup, a fake crime scene, and its 80 students attend classes in full police get-up instead of the usual uniforms.

According to the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) Facebook page, the initiative was the idea of teacher Mastina Masir, who wanted her students to get early exposure to the field of law enforcement.

Apart from teaching the students the usual syllabus, the four teachers at the kindergarten also expose the budding cops to road traffic rules, as well as commercial and narcotic crime prevention with lessons from officers of the Sabah Police Contingent Headquarters, which is located a stone's throw away from the kindergarten.

Four teaching assistants also ensure that the kids in blue behave at all times.

Not surprisingly, Tabika Kemas Al-Ghazali was officiated on August 25, 2021, by then-state police commissioner Hazani Ghazali.

Talk about starting young. If ever there was an award for creativity for educational institutions, this kindergarten surely deserves it!
