The photo of what appears like a collapsing building on Jalan Conlay near Raja Chulan went viral on social media and Whatsapp groups today (23 Dec). The YOO8 residence building identified as part of the 8 CONLAY Complex Project was reportedly falling and causing traffic in the city.
However, The Star confirmed that the building (tower) is NOT falling and is still under construction. The brochure of the project shows that the curve is just part of the tower's design.
According to the KL Fire and Rescue Department, no complaints have been received regarding a collapsing building.
Speaking to The Star, KSK Land explained that 'depending on the angle, the towers’ unique design will make them appear as if they are tilted'.
“Designed by RSP Architects KL, 8 Conlay features one of the world’s tallest twisted twin residential towers, called YOO8 serviced by Kempinski.
“KSK Land, the developer of 8 Conlay, places safety and genuine care at the heart of its operations and works diligently to assess and assure all healthy and safety requirements are met and guaranteed, ” the developer told The Star.
