Renowned local cinematographer cum composer Ghazaali Abdul Razak has passed away, after a battle with fourth stage lung cancer.

The multiple-award winning entertainer, who's better known as Zallee, passed away this morning, aged only 38.

Zallee's friends had earlier this year turned to crowdfunding for his treatment costs, which came to almost RM100,000 a year.

He had no medical card to support the cost and work was also dampened by the movement control order (MCO) due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The cancer was first diagnosed last year, and his condition has steadily deteriorated since, causing the cost of his proposed treatment to also balloon up, due to the revision in the chemotherapy and drugs dosage.

In his career spanning more than 20 years in the local entertainment industry, Zallee had worn many hats, including as cinematographer, editor, and music composer. He has also won many awards.

So much talent, gone so soon. Our deepest condolences to friends and family of Zallee.
