Tamil rights NGO Malaysian Tamilar Kural is seeking volunteers for its clean up campaign at the Balathandayuthapani Temple (Thaneer Malai) in George Town, Penang, for the 2020 Thaipusam celebrations on Feb 8.

According to its national Youth wing deputy chief M Kogilan, at least 100 volunteers are needed for the 24-hour #KeepCleanPenangThaipusam2020 clean-up project, which will began at 6pm on Feb 7, and end at 6pm on Feb 8.

"We are seeking for volunteers to help keep the Penang Thaipusam celebrations a clean one. We cannot operate without your support.

"This is the third year we are carrying out this campaign, and I hope volunteers will join us to raise social awareness," he said in a statement.

Volunteers will be gifted with a certificate and t-shirt each, for participating in the effort.
