A woman was gunned down by her 'toxic' ex-husband, who later turned the gun on himself, after she documented her journey through divorce and healing on her TikTok account.

The victim is Pakistani-American photographer Sania Khan, 29, while police have named the culprit as Raheel Ahmad, 36, who drove more than 11 hours (over 11,000km) to commit the horrific deed.

According to reports, Sania had written that she had 'never been happier' just weeks before she was mercilessly gunned down by Raheel on July 18, in Chicago, in USA. She was found dead with a gunshot wound on the back of the head, while Raheel shot himself, also in the head, when the police arrived, and died at the hospital later.

In clips posted prior to her untimely death, Sania had documented to her 16,000 followers how her marriage had lasted less than a year before the divorce, as she struggled with anxiety and sleepless nights.

She had also shared how she was excited for 'new beginnings' and to start a new chapter in life, post her divorce from Raheel in May this year.

Her social media sharing, however, seemed to have upset her ex-husband, whom police say was 'depressed' and wanted to 'salvage the marriage'.

By documenting her journey through divorce and healing, Sania had said that she wanted to help others in her position.

Hundreds of tributes from Sania's friends and followers have flooded her TikTok channel, following the tragic news.

Such a sad news indeed. A young life, snuffed out too soon. May her soul find peace.
