Pandian Stores is one of the popular serials on Vijay TV which have been adopted in many other languages. The hit pair Mullai and Kathir are one of the highlights in the serial.

In December 2020, Pandian Stores fans were shocked by the unexpected death of VJ Chitra, who played the character of Mullai. Chitra's fans and friends demanded Vijay TV to either discontinue the Pandian Stores serial or kill off Mullai from the show as they believe that no one could replace her.

But soon, serial actress Kaavya Arivumani joined the cast as the new Mullai. She has been trying her best to do justice to the role and her efforts are well-appreciated by the viewers.

However, some media sites are claiming that Kaavya will be leaving the serial to pursue a film career soon. It has been reported that Kavya will be paired with Kavin in an upcoming film Oor Kuruvi; produced by Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivn.

There hasn't been any official confirmation, but Mullai's fans are disheartened after hearing the buzz.
