From her impressive performances in local productions such as Kadhaanayagi and Ramarajan 2.0, Viji has now reached a new milestone by appearing in Zee Tamil’s series Mounam Pesiyadhe. Despite previously being approached for a role in Kannathil Muthamittal, Viji had to turn down the opportunity due to other commitments. When the call came again for Mounam Pesiyadhe, she knew she had to seize the chance to be part of a project that resonated with her.
Discussing her experience of working on an international production compared to the Malaysian industry, Viji shared her insights:
“Being an artist, we often memorise the entire script and prepare extensively. A special thanks to prompting as it allows actors to focus more on reactions than memorising lines. It was a refreshing change and helped me deliver what the director wanted with ease.”
In Mounam Pesiyadhe, Viji portrays the best friend of the main character, Janani. As Janani finds herself alone in Malaysia, Viji’s character becomes her confidante. The plot takes an intriguing turn when Janani becomes engaged to a man from Tamil Nadu, and Viji's character plays a pivotal role in revealing key events to others.
The path to success in acting is far from smooth, and Viji's journey highlights the challenges faced by artists. Reflecting on the shoot, she noted, “The weather was unpredictable throughout filming. It would be scorching hot during the day, and by night, it would rain heavily. There were days when none of us slept, soaking wet, dealing with fever and flu, but we pushed through because of our passion and determined to finish it on time.”
Looking ahead, Viji is enthusiastic about her future, with new opportunities in advertisements, movies, and series on the horizon. She expressed her gratitude towards Zee Tamil, the producers, and the production team for giving her this significant opportunity. “Their support for artists like me allows us to showcase our talents on larger stages,” Viji said.
“Being an artist is never easy, but it’s worth every challenge,” Viji reflected. With her positive outlook and tireless spirit, it’s clear that this is just the beginning for Viji Prakash.
Keep shining, Viji!
