National netball player Fariha Razak has expressed strong dissatisfaction over a doctored photograph of the Malaysian netball squad’s victory at the 2016 Asian Championship, which showed the Jalur Gemilang being flown upside down.
Fariha, who is also a presenter with Astro Arena, said the altered image was the work of irresponsible individuals with apparent malicious intent.
“As a national athlete who has always upheld the dignity of the country, I find this completely unacceptable,” she said in a social media video post.
She urged the public not to engage in actions that could sow division, especially in the lead-up to Malaysia’s Independence Day celebrations.
“Please be more mindful and responsible. We should be fostering unity, not creating unnecessary discord,” she added.
