The mother of late soldier Tropper K. Indiran has urged the public to refrain from making assumptions or spreading speculation about her son’s death, saying such claims could tarnish the reputation of the Malaysian Armed Forces.
S. Usha, 52, said the autopsy conducted on her eldest son found no physical injuries and no evidence of bullying or abuse. She stressed that she had never claimed her son was mistreated during his service.
“When I received the shocking news that my child was in critical condition, I feared something bad had happened. However, after the autopsy results, there was no evidence that he had been bullied, beaten, or harmed,” said S. Usha when met at her residence in Taman Sri Nibong early this morning.
She said her son’s physical condition was normal and urged the public not to link his death to unverified allegations.
“Physically, he was very normal. So please do not tarnish the ATM’s name because those allegations are not true. We will wait for the outcome of the ongoing investigation,” she said.
Usha added that further internal investigations, including specialised tests to determine the exact cause of death, are currently underway and are expected to take between three and four months.
She said her son had no known health issues when he joined the military, making his sudden passing even more shocking for the family. However, she said they have accepted his death with strength.
According to her, Indiran maintained close contact with the family and would call her daily to update her about his activities at the camp.
Usha also explained that rigorous training is a normal part of military life and should not be mistaken for abuse.
She noted that her late husband had served in the Royal Malaysian Air Force and had also undergone similarly demanding training.
“My son told me the training was tough and challenging, but it was meant to test endurance, not to bully or harm anyone,” she said.
The family is now awaiting the full investigation results to understand the circumstances surrounding his death.
