Selangor Working Mums Can Get RM1,000 Childcare Aid - Here's How to Apply

MamaKerja

Being a working mother today comes with more than just balancing a career and family life. Many women are also helping to shoulder the household's financial responsibilities, all while managing the rising costs of childcare, nursery fees and daily expenses.

To help ease that burden, the Selangor State Government has announced an additional RM5 million allocation for its MamaKerja Programme under the Selangor Resilience Strengthening Package Phase 2.

The new allocation doubles the programme's funding from RM5 million to RM10 million, allowing twice as many working mothers to benefit from the initiative.

With the additional funding, another 5,000 working mothers will receive a one-off incentive of RM1,000 each, bringing the total number of recipients to 10,000 across Selangor.

Selangor Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Amirudin Shari said the increase was made in response to the current economic climate and the growing cost of raising young children.

"Taking into account the current economic challenges that may affect the people's livelihood, the State Government has decided to increase the allocation by RM5 million.

"This will allow the RM10 million allocation to provide RM1,000 in assistance to every eligible working woman with children aged six years and below who require childcare at a nursery or daycare centre," he said.

What is the MamaKerja Programme?
