STR 2026 Guide: Eligibility, SARA RM600 & How to Check Your Status

SARA

Many people previously questioned whether the Rahmah Cash Contribution for singles would continue. Starting in 2026, single STR recipients under 60 will no longer receive direct cash payments.

Instead, the government has introduced the Basic Rahmah Contribution (SARA), a cashless credit worth RM600 per year, credited monthly at RM50. This assistance can be used to purchase essential items at selected supermarkets nationwide.

This change reflects the government’s aim to provide more structured support and ensure that aid is used specifically for daily necessities.
