With Thalapathy Thiruvizha just a few days away, excitement is building among Malaysians and fans online to be part of this one-in-a-million event, which also marks the final film of Vijay’s Jana Nayagan. In light of ongoing restrictions, it is important to be aware of the rules and safety guidelines for the event.
The police have issued a strict warning that any individual violating security regulations will face action. This includes displaying political materials during the concert by actor Vijay, scheduled to take place in the capital on December 27.
Cheras District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Aidil Bolhassan, stated that the ban applies to any form of speech, symbols, movements, or live broadcasts carrying political messages. All spectators and parties involved are expected to comply with safety guidelines and maintain public order throughout the concert.
The warning follows the circulation of photos and videos on social media showing individuals wearing T-shirts with the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam Party (TVK) logo alongside Vijay’s image, as he is the party’s founder and president.
Children aged five and above must have a valid ticket to attend, while children under five will not be able to enter the stadium.
Astro AWANI’s survey found that TVK party flags were being sold online for around RM35, with logo scarves available for RM22.89.
Police personnel will be stationed in and around the concert venue to ensure security and prevent any untoward incidents. Organizers and attendees are urged to follow all instructions and ensure that the concert does not become a platform for political activities.
Vijay, popularly known as Thalapathy among fans, is scheduled to attend the audio launch of his latest film Jana Nayagan prior to the Thiruvizha concert at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium.
The TVK party was formed in January 2024, and Vijay has since announced his intention to contest the Tamil Nadu state elections next year, officially entering the political arena. Previously, in 2009, his fan club merged to form a non-governmental organization called Narpani Iyakkam, which was later renamed Vijay Makkal Iyakkam.
The organization gained attention when it openly supported the opposition coalition led by the All-India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) during the 2011 state elections. AIADMK, founded by legendary actor M.G. Ramachandran in 1972, remains one of Tamil Nadu’s most influential parties. After MGR’s passing, the party was led by actress J. Jayalalithaa, who served six terms as Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.
