Cheran is an award-winning director who is well-known for his feel-good films based on human relationships. Some of his memorable works include Bharathi Kannamma, Autograph, and Thavamai Thavamirundhu. He has also acted in some of his own films.

However, after a few flops in the 2010s, Cheran took a sabbatical from the industry and resurfaced when he participated in Bigg Boss Tamil Season 3 hosted by Kamal Haasan.

Following his Bigg Boss participation, the director resumed his acting career and is shooting for an upcoming film Anandham Vilayadum Veedu directed by Nandha Periyasamy.

During a recent shoot at Dindugal, the actor reportedly suffered a head injury and received eight stitches. Despite his accident, the star completed his remaining scenes, and the team returned to Chennai after that.
