Actor Suriya has shared his heartfelt thoughts on what it takes to build a lasting relationship, reminding couples that love should never stop growing, even after marriage.
Speaking at the audio launch of Vishwanath And Sons, the actor said love is not something that begins and ends with a wedding day, but something that should be nurtured every single day.
"I think love should be everlasting. It shouldn't be something you feel only when you tie the knot. Even after spending 20 years together, you should continue loving your partner every day. Most importantly, always treat them with respect," he said.
Suriya acknowledged that people naturally change as they grow older. Priorities evolve, perspectives shift and life can take unexpected turns. However, he believes one thing should remain constant, the love and affection shared between partners.
"Your priorities at 20, 25 or 30 may be different. Life changes, and so do we. But the love and care you have for your partner should never change," he added.
The actor also highlighted the importance of respecting women, saying they often make greater sacrifices throughout life.
"A woman goes through far more than a man in many aspects of life. Whether it's caring for the family, managing the home or giving birth, they make countless sacrifices. Always respect those sacrifices. If possible, show even more respect than love," he said.
Suriya's statement drew praise from fans, with many applauding his mature and thoughtful perspective on relationships and marriage.
Vishwanath And Sons, directed by Venky Atluri, is slated for release on August 14. The film's trailer hints at an unconventional romance between a middle-aged sportsman and a younger woman who develops feelings for him.
