Krishna Rode 14 Hours to Return a Stranger’s Debit Card and Refused Any Reward

Krishna Rode 14 Hours to Return a Stranger’s Debit Card and Refused Any Reward

What began as every traveller's worst nightmare ended as a powerful reminder that kindness still exists.

A solo traveller visiting India accidentally left her debit card inside an ATM in Kerala, only realising it was missing after she had already arrived in New Delhi, a journey of nearly five hours away.

With limited options and her departure from India just 36 hours away, panic quickly set in.

Hoping for a miracle, the traveller contacted a DHL employee named Krishna, whom she had briefly met earlier that day and exchanged contact details with.

Despite having no obligation to help, Krishna immediately went to check the ATM. Remarkably, nearly 24 hours later, the debit card was still sitting safely on top of the machine.

However, there was another problem. It was Sunday, meaning courier services were unavailable, leaving very little time before the traveller's flight home.

Rather than giving up, Krishna decided to take matters into his own hands.

Together with two friends, he embarked on an extraordinary journey, travelling for six hours by auto rickshaw through the heat to personally deliver the card. The selfless mission took around 14 hours for the round trip, all to help someone he had only just met.

Later that evening, Krishna called the traveller and asked her to come downstairs. Waiting outside was not a courier, but Krishna himself, holding the missing debit card. The traveller, who shares her adventures on Instagram under the handle @indiawitkin, described the experience as one she would never forget.

"Tell me karma doesn't exist," she wrote, expressing her gratitude for the stranger's incredible generosity.

What touched many people even more was what happened next.

When the traveller offered Krishna money to thank him for his efforts, he politely declined, insisting she keep it for the rest of her holiday instead.

In a world often filled with stories of scams and distrust, Krishna's actions serve as a powerful reminder that genuine kindness still exists. Sometimes, the people who leave the biggest impact on our lives are complete strangers who simply choose to do the right thing asking for nothing in return.
