For those unable to participate in all four Kaala Poojais, the third (12:00 AM – 3:00 AM) and fourth (3:00 AM – 6:00 AM) Kaala Poojais are considered the most significant.
Maha Shivaratri represents the cosmic moment when all living beings merge into Lord Shiva. During the third Kaala Pooja, Goddess Parvati worshipped Lord Shiva to revive and protect the beings who had merged with Him. At this time, the devas, rishis, and sages also offered prayers to Lord Shivan.
The fourth Kaala Pooja is the most auspicious, as it is the time when Lord Shivan grants boons and showers blessings upon those who remained awake and worshipped Him throughout the night.
