How To Register PADU & What You Need To Know About the Government's Central Database Hub ?

Pangkalan Data Utama (PADU), a cornerstone of Malaysia's digital transformation strategy, emerges to tackle data gaps, echoing Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's concerns. A collaborative effort involving the Ministry of Economy, DOSM, and the Malaysian Administrative Modernisation and Management Planning Unit birthed PADU, now open to the public.

Objectives:

1. Informed Decision-Making: Consolidating data from 400+ government agencies, PADU provides a holistic view of national household income, aiding precise policymaking.
  
2. Targeted Subsidies: Managed by DOSM, PADU enhances data accuracy, focusing on targeted subsidies and social protection programs for fair distribution.
  
3. Fair Subsidy Distribution: Aiming to prevent misuse, PADU employs effective identification processes to optimize the RM81 billion subsidy budget.
  
4. Detailed Household Income Assessment: Shifting from traditional income categories to detailed assessments ensures precise subsidy allocations based on disposable income.
  
5. User Adoption Incentives: Offering benefits like enhanced Touch 'n Go cards and shopping discounts, PADU encourages public participation in the verification process.

Registration Process:

PADU's user-friendly registration involves two parts and the registration as well as updating all sort of information will be taking place for three months which is from Jan 2 till March 31st. However, it's NOT compulsory for netizens to register. 

Eligibility:

Malaysian citizens and permanent residents aged 18+ are invited to register voluntarily.


Registration Process :

1. Basic Personal Information: Provide essential details, ensuring alignment with MyKad information.
  
2. Account Creation: Set up a secure password after OTP verification.
  
3. Electronic Know Your Customer (eKYC) Verification: Complete web-based eKYC by scanning QR code, capturing MyKad images, and a selfie.
 
4. Completion: Successfully navigate both parts for a verified PADU account.

Manual Registration:

For those without online access, a manual registration process is available, ensuring inclusivity for residents in rural areas.

Data Fields Within PADU:

Eight main sections cover personal, household, financial, and government aid-related details, ensuring precise subsidy allocation.

Subsidy Allocation Strategy:

PADU utilizes comprehensive data analysis to identify eligible households for fair and targeted subsidy distribution.

Security and Privacy:

Emphasising data security and privacy, PADU adheres to existing Acts and plans to integrate with upcoming legislation while prioritizing user information safeguarding.

Integration with MyDID and Future Plans:

Integration with MyDID aims for Single Sign-On (SSO), aligning with Malaysia's phased government technology initiatives. With that, stay informed about PADU for accurate data representation and potential eligibility for targeted government subsidies and aid programs.
