MyLesen B2 2026: 15,000 Free Motorcycle Licences Up for Grabs - Here's Who Can Apply

The government is offering 15,000 free Class B2 motorcycle licences under the MyLesen B2 2026 Programme, providing an opportunity for eligible Malaysians to obtain a licence at no cost.

Introduced by the Ministry of Transport (MOT) through the Road Transport Department (JPJ), the initiative aims to help students and youths, particularly those from B40 families, gain legal riding qualifications while improving their employability and promoting safer road practices.

The programme is designed to reduce the financial burden of obtaining a motorcycle licence while encouraging responsible and law-abiding road users.

Who is eligible?

The MyLesen B2 2026 Programme is open to three main groups:

• Secondary school students.
• Students enrolled in higher education institutions (IPT).
• Youth from B40 families who are seeking employment.

Applicants must also meet the following requirements:

• Malaysian citizen.
• Aged between 16 and 35 years, with priority given to school, IPT and IPMARA students.
• Belong to the B40 income group or be a dependent of a B40 family.
• Must not possess any driving licence.
• Physically and mentally fit.
• Not blacklisted by the courts, JPJ or the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM).

What does the programme cover?

Successful applicants will receive a fully sponsored Class B2 Malaysian Driving Licence (LMM), allowing them to legally ride motorcycles with an engine capacity of up to 250cc.

The sponsorship covers the entire licensing process, including riding lessons, practical training, examinations and licence issuance, with all costs borne by the government, subject to the programme's terms and conditions.
