Autistic kid thanked PM

An autistic student has publicly expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim for expanding free education to students from low-income families and persons with disabilities, describing the move as a powerful affirmation of inclusion and hope.

Rajendrra Vharma, a student from the Special Education Integration Programme (PPKI) at Sentul Utama, said the policy reflects genuine concern for children with special needs and reinforces the belief that every child has a rightful place in Malaysia’s future.

“Your announcement of free education is more than a policy; it is a gift of hope. It shows that our future matters, and that every child, regardless of their challenges, has a place in Malaysia’s journey forward,” he said in a message of appreciation to the prime minister.

On Tuesday, Anwar announced that students from low-income households and persons with disabilities will be exempted from tuition fees at public universities, colleges, and polytechnics. The move aims to ensure equitable access to higher education, regardless of financial background or physical ability.

Anwar, who is also the Finance Minister, said the policy reflects the government’s commitment to social justice and inclusive development, particularly for vulnerable communities that often face financial and systemic barriers to education.

The exemption, which covers tuition fees at public institutions, forms part of broader education reforms under the Madani government framework, which prioritises equity, dignity, and equal opportunity for all Malaysians.

In his message, Rajendrra also encouraged fellow students with disabilities to remain resilient and not lose hope, while expressing appreciation to parents and teachers for their unwavering support.

He concluded by thanking Anwar for “believing with us”, a sentiment that has resonated widely as the government continues to advance reforms aimed at reducing inequality through education.
